Still meeting, despite coronavirus. I was very mindful of the general sense of chaos and fear as I planned. We looked to bring a Gospel of peace and turn people's hearts to the freedom of trusting God.

Normally in challenging circumstances I would stick to well-known songs, but I felt for today that a sense of the future was also really helpful. We sang two new songs in the opening block, with 'Great Is Thy Faithfulness' sandwiched between. The room was more tentative than it has been recently, but still a clear sense of engagement with God.

Two wonderful baptism testimonies today.

Andy preached on the dangers of hypocrisy and religion-gone-wrong. We responded with David's cry of repentance from his own hypocrisy and then sang 'Build My Life' by way of abandoning all other hopes and comforts.

A strange Sunday. Holding steady in times like this is just as vital as the heights of the highs.
