My last time leading in 2015. Our main Carol Services were last week but still lots of carols today.

The opening block was deep. The line "Let every heart prepare him room" stuck out as we sang 'Joy to the World' so I led a spontaneous meditation on that idea.

Mark asked for 'He Walked Where I Walk' to tie into his sermon. Graham Kendrick's 'The Gift' album has been a staple of Christmas since I was a child so I was very happy to do so. We came up with a nice contemporary arrangement. (I think there would be a lot of mileage in an album of updated versions of some of Graham's 80's classics. The songs are enduring.)

I linked the lines "God with us/So close to us/God with us/Emmanuel" from 'He Walked' into "You are God with us/You're victorious/You are strong and mighty to save" from 'Remain'. A strong connection, which also gave us room for those who have hard circumstances to contend with over Christmas season.

Soon it will be time to do some reflection on my setlists over the past year, but right now I'm just very much looking forward to a rest.

See you in 2016...
