Setlist - 28 Oct 2012
Sunday morning at Kings

  • [C] All creatures of our God and King - St Francis of Assisi, David Crowder
  • [E] Yesterday, today and forever - Vicky Beeching
  • [E] My hope is built on nothing less - Edward Mote, William Bradbury
  • [E] Your grace is enough - Reuben Morgan
  • [Bb] I lift my eyes up - Brian Doerksen
  • [Bb] Strength will rise - Brenton Brown, Ken Riley
  • [Bb] You alone can rescue - Matt Redman, Jonas Myrin

I geared the whole set around God's faithfulness this morning.

The promise of our "firm foundation" in 'Yesterday, today and forever' was fleshed out in 'My hope is built'. 'Your grace is enough' was a natural response.

Ruth preached on abiding in God. The response was powerful. Probably the richest version of 'Strength will rise' we've ever sung. We took it a bit slower than usual to give space - as the verse says - to wait on the Lord.

I'm wondering again why Matt Redman dropped the second chorus of 'You alone can rescue' for the album version. These are some of the strongest lyrics about the Christian life:

Now we are more than conquerors through your deathless love
Nothing, Lord, will have a hold on us
You're the saving promise, you will never fail
To you alone belongs the highest praise
