An excellent evening! The sound was much better than two weeks ago and the whole meeting seemed to connect.

I really enjoyed planning the main block this week. It's been a while since we've had a meeting format with time for more than three songs in a row. Five songs gives so much greater scope for developing a theme.

I took the opportunity to bring out a couple of slightly more obscure tunes. 'Because of your love' went well as the opener. And I haven't used 'Befriended' for ages. It's a great song and it defintely seemed to click.

Paul Jones made his preaching debut. At the end of his concluding prayer he prayed "Be my everything", which was a bit of gift given that I had 'Everything' on my setlist.

Lots of people brought contributions. We're beginning to get the hang of having more time for response.

We finished with 'Build your kingdom here'. It's the buzz song of the moment. That's the first time I've led it. For some reason I've not been getting on well with playing it at all. But the lyrics really expand our vocabularly regarding the church so I've persevered.

Overall, a good step this evening, I think.
