Our first Sunday of sojourn away from the DSU. We coped with the predictable unpredictabilities of the transition. It was an uplifting morning overall.

We've stripped the band back to a more acoustic feel because we don't have as long to rehearse. A full band is great, but there's also something good about going simpler. I think it's going to make for a more flexible season of worship, and that's exactly what's needed. It's not a time just to do the same thing we've always done.

I taught 'Way Maker' by Sinach Joseph this morning. Judging by the after-service-whistle-test it went well. It's so powerful to sing "Way maker, Miracle worker, Promise keeper, Light in the darkness" over our lives and over our church in this season. And I enjoyed transitioning from C18th English Methodism with 'O For A Thousand' into C21st Nigerian Pentacostalism with 'Way Maker' and feeling the deep agreement as both songs testify of the transforming power of the Gospel.

We were running quite a bit behind because of technical hitches at the beginning so there was only time for one song responding to Tim's sermon on founding our community on Christ. 'All To Us' is a little overfamiliar now, but there wasn't really anywhere else to go.

A good morning. I'm hopeful for the season ahead.
