The first Sunday of Advent and another morning of action worship. A slightly distracted one for me personally.

I've been playing with different arrangements of 'Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus' all week, and unfortunately that left me a little unclear of exactly what I wanted to do with it this morning. It didn't really click in the rehearsal or even when we led it. It's on the list for our Carol Services in two weeks so I'll need to do some work before then.

Action worship went well. Surprisingly, that was a first play for the ubiquitous 'Our God is a Great Big God' at Morning Worship. It's surely the one undisputed kids worship classic of the past 15 years. Then we did 'Saviour of the World' with actions and had people say "Jesus is our saviour!" in as many mother tongue languages as we could manage in the room.

I was a little off the mark in responding to Ruth's sermon. My setlist was fine, but through the whole sermon I was thinking how much more appropriate Bethel's 'For The Sake of the World' would have been. It's frustrating when you have that experience. But the response went well enough and people brought good contributions.

Overall, not my finest hour as a worship leader. But happily still a solid morning.
