Another tough one - partly personally, and partly some teething issues with new technology. But I think it was a good morning nonetheless.

We're switching to in-ear monitors for the band. The aim is to reduce the noise on the stage and give the PA guys more control over the levels in the room.

I'm definitely positive about the move in principle, but it's quite an adjustment having a headphone in my ear and not much sound from the instruments on stage. It's as big a difference as when you move from no PA in a small room to needing a microphone and speakers.

The new set-up seems very conspicuous and somewhat distracting at the moment, but I'm sure it will all become invisible soon enough and the benefits should greatly outweigh the disadvantages.

September is always a teething month as we get ready for the influx of students after the summer. As always, I'm excited and slightly nervous about what the new academic year might hold...
