My heart has been heavy with the sad, troubling stories about Christian leaders online at the moment. I know how easy it is to miss or kid myself about the harmful threads in my ministry and my life, and how easily I can imagine it all spiralling out of control. All I can do is throw myself in surrender on the mercy of God. So that was our set this evening.

Normally I really enjoy singing and leading, but I didn't this evening, even though I knew it was going well. I couldn't find any words to bring exhortation. I felt like a broken vessel. While not very enjoyable, I think that was right.

We nearly sang Matt Redman's 'Heart of Worship' at the end of the set. We had it planned. But in the end, I think it was too on the nose.

Lord, have mercy.
