Sunday morning at Kings

Another big start-of-term meeting, alive with the Gospel.

I read of our confidence to approach God from Hebrews 10 to start, and unpacked those themes in song: holding fast to the confession of our hope, the blood of Jesus our great high priest, and our confidence in faith. It was powerfully uplifting, and people enriched the thread with excellent spoken contributions.

I was less explicit in verbally narrating our values and emphases this morning, but I think the songs themselves did the job pretty well.

Andy preached a stirring sermon from Acts 5 on the power of the Word of God in the apostles preaching. The response worked well, but I fluffed a really nice segue I had planned between 'For The Sake' and 'O For A Thousand'. I know that kind of thing doesn't really matter but it's always frustrating when a link that would have enhanced both songs feels like it ends up jarring the tone.

But a great meeting overall.
