Setlist - 5 Jul 2015
Sunday morning at Kings

  • [Eb] Come, let us worship Jesus - Graham Kendrick
  • [E] Yesterday, today and forever - Vicky Beeching
  • [E] Cornerstone - Edward Mote, Reuben Morgan, Jonas Myrin, Eric Liljero
  • [A] When I call on your name - Ben Cantelon
  • [C] I cling to the cross - Chris Juby
  • [C] There is a day - Nathan Fellingham
  • [A] There's a place where the streets shine - Paul Oakley

Small numbers, but so much life. The whole meeting lifted right from the start.

We sang a lot of Kings classics this morning. Mark preached on the resurrection from 1 Thess.

I was very pleased with the flow of the response songs. 'I cling' has "One day we wake wake/All sorrow, pain and fear will simply fade", then into "We will meet him in the air".

I've actually never done 'There is a day' at Kings before. It has so many flaws in metre and the "Oh yeahs" feel a bit contrived as a congregational lyric. But it carries the main thrust of our passage today so powerfully that I got down off my high horse and used it.

Then on to the rich eschatology of 'There's a place'. Probably Kings' all time favourite song.
