Back at Kings after two weeks in the States, including an amazing time at the 2018 Calvin Worship Symposium. Sometimes I find it hard to adjust back after a long time away, but all the brilliant experiences I had have actually deepened my conviction that Kings is the community God has given me to be part of.

I led very familiar songs in opening worship as a way of reintegrating myself. We sang of God's faithful leading and provision, most profoundly in Jesus as we gathered around the communion table.

Mark spoke on discipleship from Mark's Gospel. The new song I've written 'Jesus is Here' really clicked this morning. I think I've finally figured out how to play it fluently on the guitar, and it really feels like a vital theme for our community at the moment.

I had a lovely couple of segues from the new song to the hymn 'Take my life and let it be' and then 'For the sake of the world', but the meeting took a different turn with a great testimony of God's faithfulness through illness in our community which referenced Matt Redman's 'Blessed be you name'. We had to sing that to close. (Maybe I'll use my run another time!)
