I've been reflecting a lot recently on how futile it is to try to improve myself by my own effort, but how completely God's grace transforms my prospects. That theme is coming out in my worship leading. We opened today with a run focusing on God's goodness overwhelming our weakness.

I broke a string towards the end of 'To God be the Glory'. I made a bit of an object lesson out of it, noting that a broken string while you're trying to lead songs speaks of the way our best efforts are always frustrated. The grace of God is still everywhere.

I taught a new song by Joel Payne at RESOUNDworship during communion. 'Jesus, You Call Us' is another from the forthcoming 'Songs for Sundays' album. (Still crowdfunding for another 24 hours, 93% funded. Get involved!) The idea for the album is to help worship leaders who are thinking "I need a ___ song for Sunday". That's exactly what happened to me when I was prepping on Friday. It's a really solid song.

Tim D continued our series on the book of Hosea. We responded with a full-voiced 'Great Is Thy Faithfulness' and a strong 'Unbroken Praise'.
