Three baptisms this morning. The room was alive with grace and gratitude from the off, and the baptism testimonies were very moving.

I opened with my 'Come and Worship Christ the King'. I've had mixed feedback about how fast the song is so we tried it a bit slower this morning. I'm really pleased to have got so many rich Christological themes into a up-tempo opener so I'm definitely going to persist with it.

Our preaching series is on the gospel of Luke. There are surprisingly few songs that directly reference stories from the life and ministry of Christ (as opposed to his birth, death and resurrection), but 'O For A Thousand Tongues' is a notable exception. We dwelt for a moment on "His blood availed for me" at the end before transitioning to an uplifting rendition of 'All My Days'.

I taught 'Love Ran Red' to the morning meeting. It's a really strong song. Verses, chorus and bridge are all strong in their own right and they add up to a really coherent whole. I wish that was more commonly true of new worship songs. I ran it in Eb (half a step down from the evening last week). I'd really recommend giving it a go if you lead worship.
