Where to start with this one?

It's weeks since I last led Sunday morning worship at Kings. I was on the rota to lead earlier this month but for the first time ever I was too ill and had to ask sometime to step in. (Thanks again, Rob!)

Since then I've had the sad honour of leading worship at a funeral for the first time.

I've also had much to reflect on after attending the WorshipGod UK conference in Bath at the beginning of March.

And I'm agonisingly close to finishing my first EP of worship songs. (Stand by for more on that!)

It's been a strange, mixed time.

The morning went well enough. But I had the surreal experience of realising as Mark began preaching that the sermon was heading in a very different direction than I was expecting. I had to hastily revise the response and hope the band would be ok. (They were, of course.)

It was a great opportunity to use 'Love divine, all loves excelling' - one of my favourite hymns, but not one I use very often.

There was a general emphasis on receiving the Spirit in the response block as a whole. It's good to sound that note.
